Sweet Potato Pie Recipe


1 Pkg of Heritage Fare Sweet Potato Pie Seasoning

2 Large sweet potatoes or yams (approximately 2 lbs)

4 Ounces (1stick) butter or margarine

2 Large eggs

1/2 Cup of evaporated milk

Two 9xx 1 1/4 inch pie crust/shells

or One 10x2 inch pie crust/shell


  1. Place the sweet potatoes or yams in a large pot, cover with water and cook for 45 minutes or until potatoes are thoroughly cooked.

  2. Preheat oven at 350 degrees.

  3. Once done, drain potatoes. While potatoes are still warm, peel then cut into pieces.  Place into a large mixing bowl, and add butter/margarine.  Mash potatoes with butter until smooth.  Place contents of seasoning package in with mixture.  Add milk and eggs, mix until well blended.

  4. Pour mixture into two (2) 9-inch pie crust/shells or one 10-inch pie crust/shell.  Place pie in the oven.  Bake for 60 minutes or until done.  (Insert toothpick in the center of the pie and remove.  If the toothpick is clean, pie is done.)
